On Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at 3:05 PM, we will host Mr. Robert S. Cohen, Attorney at Law in New York State (Visiting Professor at the University of Pennsylvania), for a lecture titled “Practice of New York Family Law: A Comparison with Japan’s Divorce System” (hosted by the Waseda University Graduate School of Law, co-hosted by the Waseda University Institute for Clinical Legal Studies).
Mr. Cohen is a senior partner at Cohen Clair Lans Greifer & Simpson LLP in New York State. He is highly regarded as a family law attorney and has handled divorce cases for Richard Gere (representing the wife), Billy Joel (representing the wife), Uma Thurman (representing Thurman), Michael Bloomberg (representing Bloomberg), and Donald Trump (representing Trump’s wife, twice). Recently, he has been reported to have represented Kanye West and Melinda Gates. In 2024, he was selected as one of Forbes magazine’s “Top 200 Lawyers in the United States.” Since 2003, Mr. Cohen has also been passionate about legal education as a visiting professor at the University of Pennsylvania.
The public lecture will be broadcast via Zoom, so we encourage all teachers to participate.
